Bridesmaids trailer

When the trailer begins we are shown a long/high angle shot of the surroundings. Before we meet the characters we hear them. This is effective because it makes us wonder who it is. "I'm engaged"... and then we meet the two main characters. Two woman about 40, this instantly attracts an audience from 20+ as many woman will begin to experience big changes in their lives such as getting married or their best friends getting married. We begin to see that the made of honour is useless due to the fact she has no idea what to do for her best friend and her car is broken. This makes the audience aware it is going to be a comedy film as there is normally a dumb best friend and the one who is independent and has her head screwed on!

Through the use of sound and camera we are then introduced to 4 more people. Because Annie is being introduced to them at the same tine as us this helps us to understand what the other people are like. However when we are introduced to Helen, mise en scene helps us to understand that she is of a higher class due to her huge dress that looks expensive. Also due to the fact she believes Annie has just come from work when actually she put in an effort for the occasion.

At the end of the trailer it says "Save the date this may" this is effective because it sounds like a wedding invitation but also makes the audience aware that the film shall be being released in May which keeps them interested in seeing the film.
