Hannah: hello, and welcome to the news at six with me Hannah
Baily: and me, Baily Whiting
(EITHER BAILY OR I ) : With information just coming in now it has come to light that an individual has escaped a psychiatric hospital in * name a town*. He is dressed as a clown with a white shirt and black trousers, we believe this is to hide his identity. He is dangerous and in distress therefore if you see him DO NOT APPROACH HIM and call 999 asap.
( the other person who said above) We shall let you know any other information as soon as it comes in. Thank you and goodnight.

Final make up idea
We wanted to keep a white face for the make up as we felt it made the other features stand out more and stereotypically people associate pale people to have kept inside and the clown has been kept in a hospital for years. The black around the eyes because black is associated with negative feelings and the clown is angry and upset for being stuck in the hospital for so long. We didn't use a mask because we wanted the character to be more humanised as then the audience can connect with him as we shall feel sorry for him because he has become this way due to his past life. The red mouth and red nose is stereotypical for a clown which we wanted to keep to because then it still gives the intimidating feel and fear of the clown. Although, normally the nose is bigger and rounder which we kept away from because we want it to look like the character has done this to himself so it looks rough like the life style he has had for the last few years. We wanted the tension to slowly build up because when we first learn about the clown its on a news report but when they meet the clown it all changes. Therefore it was important to make the clown seem as believable as possible. When we did the make up we unfortunately did not have the wig but when we start filming we shall which will mean that it will be more scary because then it shows how he is trying to hide his identity. In most films when a person tries to hide their identity they change their hair and as many other features as possible which is what we shall try to get across in the trailer.
character profiles
SEAN-
Sean is in our film as a teenager. We felt it was important to include teenagers in our film as our target audience is teenagers and therefore they shall be able to connect with the characters better and will make them want to watch the actual film more. Sean is the character along with Shannon (mentioned below) who comes in counter with the clown. Sean did drama for GCSE so he has experience in adapting a role well and has seen others do performances which will help because he can then see the good and bad in our performances.
SHANNON-
Shannon is the other teenager in the film who is the sister of Sean. As mentioned above she comes in counter with the clown too. Shannon will be a victim as once she see's the clown her life spirals out of control. Shannon's character is shy and immature which suits the role of a protagonists because we will then feel her fear and can connect with the character more.
BAILY-
Baily is the clown in our film but also the news reporter. We felt he would be good as the clown because he is a lot taller than Shannon and Sean which makes the character seem more intimidating and this shall be effect as it will create tension and enable us to connect with the characters, Shannon and Sean. The clown has a bad background due to the fact he has been in a psychiatric hospital, which we shall touch on throughout the trailer. He escapes the hospital and that is when he shall become encountered with the other two characters. He dresses as a clown to seem intimidating and to express his anger for being stuck in the hospital for years.

Interview with myself ( the newsreporter)
Below are the questions used for all of our interview...
1. Why do you think you are suited to your role?
2. What do you think about the plot?
3. Seeing other horror trailers, why do you think it is different from other trailers?
4. As we are doing a horror, what do you think of the genre?
Because I am filming most of it the rest of the group felt it was important that they found out my opinions on the film as whilst they are acting they may not pick up on something that I could see. It was also good to film the interview because it gave me the chance to practice what it shall be like when I am being recorded for the news report.

We felt it was important to interview Sean because he is one of the characters and therefore he has an inside view on the production. It helped us learn what he felt was good about our film because feedback from the characters was essential.
Interview with Shannon
Interview with Baily ( The Clown/ news reporter)
Baily in our film is the clown and the news reporter we chose him to be these characters because he is tall and Sean and Shannon are a lot smaller, therefore this makes him look more intimidating which is the effect we wanted for the clown. However, we also chose him to be one of the news reporters because he is positive and can adapt to a role well. We felt it was good to do the interview with Baily looking more like the news reporter than the clown because it then has an element of surprise when the audience see him in the trailer.

Our first make up trial
We have recently tried out our first idea of make up, we have since then bought a wig when we have come to our final decision on the look of the face.
WE USED:
white face paint
red face paint
black face paint
we have looked into having bruises or scars as the first attempt went well but needs a lot more editing done to it. We want the white to be more bold and less dabbed across the face. Both the eyes and mouth still need working on. After trailing out this look we realised it looks too much like the joker which we want to stay away from
When we try again we want to include more stereotypes of a clown but we wanted a twist on this. This is because we did not want to have it connecting with the film IT too much as this has recently been released. Although IT helped us to decide on what genre and characters we shall have in our trailer because of the success of the film. We learnt that clowns are very popular within the age range of 15-25 which is our target audience.
There is still a lot of work needed to do on the make up but by doing this trial it has helped us to learn what we do and do not like and shall make the look better along the way.
Unfortunately we did not have the wig at the time of the trial so below are pictures of the make up
and when we next trial it we shall be able to use the wig too.

film title idea

This was our first initial idea of a film title, we felt it was a good idea because last year there was a clown craze and our story line is based on the return of a clown. The use of the scratchy writing is effective because throughout the trailer we want to give off the impression that the clown is psychotic and on the run. The use of the black background is effective because it makes the writing stand out more and stereotypically black is a negative colour which suggests to the audience that there shall be issues ahead.
